Terms of use
Last updated: 14 August 2026
TaxQuarter is operated by Stratum ICS, a sole trader business based in Georgetown, Guyana. By creating an account you agree to these terms. They are short and plain on purpose. If anything is unclear, write to leandre.jack@gmail.com.
What TaxQuarter does
TaxQuarter keeps your income and expense records for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, sends your quarterly updates to HMRC, and sends your final declaration at the end of the tax year. It is not an accounting system, it does not do bookkeeping or invoicing, and it is not for agents filing on behalf of clients.
The product is in sandbox testing while HMRC reviews it for production credentials. Until that approval, what you send reaches HMRC's sandbox and not your real tax record. We say so on every page that files.
What you are responsible for
- The figures. You are the taxpayer of record. What you enter here is what we send to HMRC, and you are responsible for it being right and complete.
- Your account. Keep your password and your authenticator app safe. Anything done under your account is treated as done by you.
- Your deadlines. We show the dates HMRC gives us and we do not invent any, but meeting them is yours to do.
- Only using TaxQuarter for your own tax affairs, and not to break the law.
Your HMRC connection
You authorise TaxQuarter to talk to HMRC on your behalf through HMRC's own consent screen. We only use that access to read your business details, obligations and calculations, and to send the updates and declarations you ask us to send. You can withdraw the authorisation in Settings, or at any time from your HMRC account at tax.service.gov.uk.
Billing
- TaxQuarter is £8 a month. The 14 day free trial needs no card to start.
- Payments are taken by Polar, which acts as merchant of record for the sale. Polar handles the card details, the receipt and any sales tax or VAT due. We never see your card number.
- You can cancel whenever you like from the link in any receipt. Access carries on to the end of the period you have paid for.
- If a renewal payment fails we keep your account working for a short grace period while the payment is retried, rather than locking you out mid quarter.
Your records
Your records are yours. You can read and export them at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and everything in it. How we handle your data is set out in the privacy notice. Keeping your own copy of your records is sensible, and HMRC expects you to be able to produce them.
Availability and changes
We work to keep TaxQuarter running, but we cannot promise it will never be down, and HMRC's own services have maintenance windows we do not control. We may add, change or remove features. If a change matters to your filing, we will tell you before it lands.
The honest disclaimer
TaxQuarter is provided as is. It is filing software, not tax advice. It does not check whether your figures are correct and it cannot stop HMRC rejecting a submission. To the extent the law allows, our responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the three months before the problem. Nothing here removes rights you have under the law where you live.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Guyana, where Stratum ICS is based.
